Intermodal Pyrenees: pedal and travel by train

Itinerary Directions

• Girona-Olot: We start the adventure in the city of Girona, where we will take the Carrilet I greenway in the direction of Olot. To do this, we will follow the Pirinexus route throughout the itinerary.
• Olot – Prats de Molló: We will continue along the Pirinexus route in the direction of Sant Joan de les Abadesses, Camprodon and Prats de Molló.
• Vallespir: Once we pass Prats de Molló, we will cross the border going up the Coll d’Ares, the highest point on the route, where we will enjoy spectacular views of the Pyrenees. We will follow the itinerary through Vallespir.
• Alt Empordà: Once at the Coll de Panissars, we will cross the border again to enter the Alt Empordà, and follow the Pirinexus route to Castelló d’Empúries, where we will connect with the Pirinexus Coastal route, which will take us to Figueres.
• Figueres-Girona by train: Finally we will return to Girona by train. Renfe’s R11 line connects the two cities in a journey that lasts between 30 and 40 minutes, on a medium-distance or regional train, on which you are allowed to take a bicycle.

You can also start the cycle route from Girona and return by train from Figueres to Girona.
